South Australian Ocean Paddlers
A group dedicated to Ocean Paddling around South Australia. This group takes part on spec surf ski and ocean ski down wind paddling events within South Australia and Australia. The group runs the Natural Gas - South Australian Ocean Paddling Series, which is a series of races and events throughout winter and summer. The group is affiliated with Canoe SA, Australian Canoeing and works closely with Surf Life Saving South Australia.
Members are from South Australian Canoeing Clubs, Surf Life Saving Clubs, Outriggers and Stand Up Paddlers plus recreation paddlers. Our aim is to take part in events involving distance paddling and downwind racing whilst providing an organisation for all to be part of.
We use ocean skis (familiar brands like Epic and Fenn, Think, Vajda and Stellar), outriggers, racing kayaks and SLSA spec racing skis.
Our aim is to participate in high level ocean paddling events, such as the Australian Ocean Series, Perth World Cup, 20 Beaches and other events in Australian like the Anaconda and the Molokai World Cup event.
All event updates and event entries are included on the groups Facebook page, all paddlers are welcome to post, events, training sessions and in particular group meet ups for down wind training.

Wrap up from Memorial Paddle Race held on Sunday 10 September 2017
A great turn out of paddlers with 34 lining up at Grange for the 12km paddle to Somerton from various ages and craft. The board paddlers headed off first closely followed by the main group.
Conditions were tough with an incoming tide going against the paddlers however a slight northerly breeze offset that a touch.
Main Results - Line honors
1st - Sam Myatt
2nd - Justin Needham
3rd - Jamie Beavis
1st Amanda Elson
2nd Di Wallace-Ward and Lee Myatt
Special mention to the young lads who paddled boards - Lachlan Campbell, Angas Mackay and Cooper Bristow 'great effort lads'
