What do the races involve?
Races in the series are open water 'ocean paddling' races typically 10-15km in length. Races involve a water start and a fast finish through a finishing gate on the beach. Races have Male and Female categories in U19, Open, Masters (40+) age groups, as well as an all gender open double ski category. Races in the series are timed with results available immediately after each event. All races have different starting and finishing venues so be sure to arrange a driver or car pooling to transport your gear and craft between the start and finishing points.
How do I enter?
Individual race or series entries can be purchased by following the links on the race entry page.
Where do I meet for a race?
On the days prior to the event, the race committee will choose a direction dependent on the wind factors. The race direction and starting beach will be released on the South Australian Ocean and Surf Ski Paddlers Facebook Group so keep an eye on the page in the days leading up to the race. Before every race will be a safety briefing so make sure you get to the start at least 45 minutes early. Failure to attend the briefing will require approval from the Race Director to compete.
